Threaded Rod Caps for UVic Engineering Building
The Problem
During the concrete pour for UVic's engineering-building expansion, Bird Construction needed to protect hundreds of threaded leveling rods. If concrete contaminated the threads, crews faced expensive cleanup, delays, and rework.
Our Solution
We designed custom snap-on caps that workers could install and remove with one hand. After field testing, we produced 400+ caps at a cost low enough to cover the entire job site.
The Result
Every threaded rod stayed clean. The cap installation added virtually no time to the pour schedule. Project stayed on budget and on time.
